It’s been a good time for Brianna Abercrombie to break in as a fisheries assistant for the MDNR because, well, she’s dealing with mostly contented people. “This year they are happy with the salmon fishing,” said Abercrombie while waiting for what she termed “DYI” anglers to return to the Leland Harbor. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM

To the editor: The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail provides a wonderful way to exercise, get from one place to another without using any carbon fuel, and slow down to see all that is available. To the editor: It seems near that most of the residents of Leelanau County opposed the extension of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The 4.2-mil extension will costs $15.5 million — that is $700 per foot! Remember the 1970s? Heading into the 2024-25 school year, new Leland varsity volleyball Coach Travis Baker said he and the team are ready to give it their best embarking on another busy season.
