Friends fundraiser Sunday
Cherry Republic is hosting a Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes fundraiser on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Public House in Glen Arbor. The Beach Bards will entertain with a fun afternoon of original (or new takes) on old songs, stories, and poems highlighting the history of the Sleeping Bear Dunes area.

Dramatic Dickens reading
Drew Gibson of Maple City and Don Kuehlhorn of Traverse City will offer a dramatic reading of Dickens’ classic story, “A Christmas Carol” in several locations beginning this weekend. Friday they will perform at 7 p.m.

Singing in the holiday season
Holiday fun abounds in and around Omena! The Annual Holiday Concert with the Village Voices and the Northport Community Band is always a highlight of the season. It is this Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Northport Performing Arts Center. You can go to the Northport Performing Arts Center website to get tickets. This Saturday is the Northport Women’s Club’s annual Treats and Treasures from 9 a.m. to noon at Trinity Church in Northport. The event supports educational grants.
