Farmstay talks continue in Leelanau Township
Leelanau Township Planning Commission members will move forward with considering a change to a zoning ordinance text amendment to provide for farmstays in the Agricultural Zoning District. Phil Hallstedt of Hallstedt Homestead Cherries in Northport first introduced the application to board members at the April 25 township planning commission meeting.

Woman’s group recognizes scholars
The Glen Lake Woman’s Club awarded seven college scholarships to graduating Glen Lake seniors who will attend Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) during the Glen Lake Awards Night last week. One additional student, who took a “gap” year after graduating in 2023, and two third-year students received scholarships after successfully completing their second year of college courses at NMC.

Emily Worden of Leelanau Investing For Teens (LIFT) was presented with a donation by Mila MacNaughton, President of the Leelanau Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP). The donation of $3,500 included $500 from the TBA credit Union.
