To the editor: Sheriff Borkovich calls people who disagree with him and express those opinions via our First Amendment rights, haters? Is that right? Many residents were upset that he appeared with Trump, in uniform, tacitly endorsing his violent rhetoric aimed at immigrants, representing Leelanau County. The Bingham Township Board meeting on Monday was unusually well attended as about 10 township residents were in the audience. To the editor: Letters whining about our wonderful Sheriff’s meeting with former President Trump to discuss border safety are disappointing. Instead, shouldn’t these writers be protesting the explosion of fentanyl crossing our border (estimated to be enough to kill every person in our country last year)?
