Leelanau County’s incumbent register of deeds, Jennifer Grant, pulls one of her campaign signs out from a yard in front of a home in Lake Leelanau. Grant defeated Renee Wyler for the Republican nomination in the Aug. 6 primary election, and since she has no Democratic challenger, Grant will be unopposed on the Nov. 5 general election ballot. Grant received 84.18% of the votes, or 3,133 out of 3,716 votes. “I am truly humbled with all the support!” Grant said on Facebook. “Thank you for putting your trust in me and allowing me to continue serving this beautiful county!” 08/08/2024 06:09 AM

Road Commission tours county roads
The Leelanau County Road Commission did not hold their regular meeting at the usual time July 16. Instead, the road commissioners went on a fivehour tour of various roads in the county, reviewing completed projects and gathering information on new ones.
