Holiday fun abounds in and around Omena! The Annual Holiday Concert with the Village Voices and the Northport Community Band is always a highlight of the season. It is this Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Northport Performing Arts Center. You can go to the Northport Performing Arts Center website to get tickets. Christmas decorations are up in most areas, it is one of my favorite times a year, Christmas. It’s amazing, people seem to have much better attitudes and other than shopping lines are happy and having fun. When driving up or down the Leelanau Peninsula on M-22, many commuters pass through the scenic commercial district of Suttons Bay. The downtown area is the very picture of a small lakeside American town with the marquee of the Bay Theatre, a family-owned department store, Bahle’s, and several buildings in between.
