Many of us are looking forward to the 2024 election season with something approaching dread — not just at potential outcomes, but at having to endure months of nastiness as increasingly polarized Americans claw at each other on TV, on social media and in newspapers. And yes, it has reached the pages of the Enterprise as well.

To the editor: Ms. Jones, in her Thursday 4 April letter to the editor, is incorrect in describing the immigrants flown into our country as illegal aliens as they have a sponsor in the U.S., have passed biometric and biographical vetting and have work permits.

Ollie R’s new S-B burger spot
Cynthia Henderson of Lylah’s restaurant in Suttons Bay is opening another restaurant, in the same building. Lylah’s, which is named after her granddaughter, couldn’t leave the other grandchild out of the restaurant game, as her grandson Ollie Reese will be getting the nod for the new burger joint that is opening up in Suttons Bay.

St. Michael’s reprints 100-year-old cookbook
Jonathon Swift, a 1700s author, coined the phrase “Everything old is new again.” And members of St. Michael the Archangel in Suttons Bay are taking this to heart.

LAKE LEELANAU - Patricia Lynn McNeil, 57, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024, at the Munson Hospice House in Traverse City surrounded by family. Born on June 26, 1966, in Traverse City, Michigan, Patricia was the second daughter of Elinor (Schuster) and Arthur McNeil Sr.

William Julius (Bill) Morse
William Julius (Bill) Morse, a longtime resident of Lake Ann, and current resident of Traverse City passed away on March 28, 2024 at the Pavilions in Traverse City at the age of 101. He was born on September 1, 1922 on the family farm near Lake Ann. He graduated from Honor High school in 1941.
