The Leland Township Clerk’s position nearly received a 30% salary hike at the township’s annual meeting Saturday. Among the agenda items was nearly $8,000 in salary increases based on salary resolutions adopted by the board in February.

Glen Lake girls soccer is ready to take on the 2024 season with their eye on prize in trying to capture a Northwest Conference championship. For the Lakers to do so they must replace Dream Team MVP Ruby Hogan and various other graduate stars including Gemma Lerchen, Grace Diotte, and Opal Pousho, to name a few.

2023 record year for Glen Lake Community Library
David Diller, directory of the Glen Lake Community Library, provided an annual library report at the March 23 annual meeting in Empire Township. The library, located in the Village of Empire, celebrated its fourth anniversary in its new facility which was expanded and renovated.

Medical calls dominate GLFD responses
The Glen Lake Fire Department (GLFD) presented an analysis of its annual report at the Empire Township annual meeting March 23. GLFD saw 545 calls throughout 2023 with 300 of those calls being medical related for both Empire (238 calls) and Glen Arbor townships (281 calls).
