Moon suffers heart attack, returns to Elmwood marina
Elmwood Township’s harbormaster, Pete Moon, is settling down after a busy season, both personally and professionally. He kept up with his duties this summer despite heart attacks putting him in the hospital on two separate occasions. The first one occurred just before the 2023 Cherry Festival in June, as Moon began experiencing chest pain near the end of the day. 12/27/2023 04:58 PM

Generations welcome Santa in Omena
Santa was in Omena on Christmas Eve and it was a wonderful, multi-generational affair. Over 30 adults and almost 20 children awaited Santa’s arrival on the fire truck. There were five families with three generations at the gathering. Two families, the Wheelers and the DelaFuentes, tied for most attendees this year, with twelve each. They both had seven adults and five children with them. Martha DelaFuente was there with her daughters and sons-in-law and all five of her grandchildren. 12/27/2023 04:58 PM

The Thompson house was full of Christmas cheer and joy. The “out of town” girls were here for a short time and at the mercy of the airlines. But unfortunately not all the out of town kids and relatives were here. But trust me, they were here in everyone’s thoughts and missed. 12/27/2023 04:58 PM

NAA looks to hire executive director
The Northport Arts Association (NAA) is looking for an executive director to lead its growing organization, programs, and events starting next year. NAA announced it was accepting candidate applications for the full-time position on December 17, but Linda Gits, NAA treasurer, said it’s been in their annual report plans since last year to eventually hire a director by 2024 to provide effective and creative leadership moving forward. 12/27/2023 04:58 PM
