Empire Hill Climb draws 500 cars

Cars roared up iconic Wilco Road in Empire on Saturday, with nearly 50 cars racing in the time trial event. Thousands roaming the streets for the biggest event of the year along the forest shores of Lake Michigan. “The Hill Climb went well; we saw beautiful weather, and the crowd was as good as ever,” Empire Hill event coordinator Paul Skinner said. 09/25/2024 04:23 PM

Leelanau County’s chief deputy treasurer and chief deputy register of deeds had their salaries raised by over 10% by the county board of commissioners last week.
