School spring theater productions in full swing
Spring theater productions are in full swing, and after months of rehearsals, county students are ready to put on their best musical performances for families and friends to see starting this week. LELAND Leland Public School students are the first to take to the stage starting Thursday, April 18 to perform Roald Dahl’s “Matilda: The Musical.” A total of 47 kids in grades 3-12 are part of the entire production, from actors to those part of the lighting, set, and stage crew. 04/17/2024 05:24 PM

A new state bill to create a tribal liaison office to build better communication between Michigan’s 12 federally recognized tribes and the legislature was introduced in Lansing just last month. S-B indigenous student count up
The number of indigenous students in K-12 grades at Suttons Bay Public School increased this school year to 155, up from last year’s count of 153, with eight tribal nations represented. The St. Mary School Physics Class
The St. Mary School Physics Class, under the direction of faculty member Kate Paulson, recently spent an afternoon at the Traverse City Curling Club. Students observed how the fiction created by sweeping and using a heavy granite stone, melted the ice and produced a thin layer of water. This in turn allowed the stone to slide more easily since the friction between the stone and the water is less than the friction between the stone and the ice.
