County’s new boat christened
The Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office dedicated the new patrol boat for its marine safety unit at Leland Harbor Aug. 29. Sheriff Mike Borkovich, who hosted the ceremony, said that it took eight years of grant applications to fund the purchase of this boat. 09/04/2024 03:50 PM

Troop 131 invites everyone to their kickoff event, on Tuesday, September 10, from 6 to 7 p.m., at Keswick Church, 3376 S Center Hwy, three miles south of Suttons Bay. Perfect weather for Omena bridge walk
The weather was absolutely perfect on Labor Day for the 11th Omena Labor Day Bridge Walk. A record attendance at the event was set with almost 60 people and two dogs participating in the shortest Labor Day Bridge Walk. For about half a dozen of them, it was their first hike across Bob’s Brook, named in honor of Bob Krist, who hosted the first Omena Bridge Walk back in 2013.
