Facts don’t add up
To the editor: The letters written to the editor in the Jan. 11 edition show a reliance on biased media for information regarding January 6.

Lead, follow or get out of the way
To the editor: CONGRATULATIONS - The County Board of Commissioners for commissioning a desperately needed Organizational Culture Survey. GOOD WORK - The Enterprise for great reporting of the results of the culture survey, which was conducted and the results presented professionally.

Dunes should be left alone
To the editor: I must add my voice to the commotion recently regarding the addition of 4 more miles to the existing 22-mile Heritage Trail that extends from Empire to Good Harbor Bay at Bohemian Rd. To add additional four miles (predicted to cost a minimum of $10 million) at a cost exceeding that of the existing 22 miles is, first of all, a lot of money.

Kudos to the Road Commission, emergency personnel
The white stuff many have been clamoring for arrived over the weekend — in a big way. Ten inches of snow was recorded Friday and Saturday in Maple City.

Parenting Communities valuable
To the editor: I would like to express my extreme appreciation and gratitude for Parenting Communities of Leelanau County. I started using their program five years ago when my son was an infant.

Where are the unions?
To the editor: The federal government is importing scab labor to suppress wages of working Americans. It is obvious big corporations and the wealthy don’t want to pay a living wage.

Friendly faces in audience needed
To the editor: I want to give a huge shout out and thank you to Kama Ross for all her hard work on our Board of Commissioners. She works tireless hours day and night serving the residents of Centerville and Leland Townships.

How distant is Bergman?
To the editor: On Nov. 19, 2023 US representative Jack Bergman had an article published in the Detroit News.

We should be proud
To the editor: I was on a work call recently where regional child wellness agencies described services provided families and parents who face challenging behaviors with and/or who have questions about their young child’s development. All agree that the earlier a child’s developmental delays are identified, the more effective the interventions can be and the greater likelihood of having a healthy child, ready to handle kindergarten, and other emotional and social issues.

Lived experiences matter
To the editor: Recent letters to the editor offered “evidence” to convince us that the Biden economy is strong. Now if only the American people could be convinced! What really matters is our lived experience.

Roll back 2017 tax cuts
To the editor: I am no expert on tax policy, but I can read. Massive, permanent tax cuts in the last 25 years have caused a dramatic increase in the national debt by reducing the amount of money the government collects to conduct its business.

Biden faces trouble in reelection effort
“We’ve got trouble.” “Right here in River City.” “Trouble with a capital T.” “And that rhymes with B.” “And that stands for Biden.” With apologies to Meredith Wilson of Music Man fame, substitute White House for River City and you have a poignant description of the trouble the sitting president is having trying to nail down four more years. In Michigan the Donald, for the first time in years, has an eight-point lead which is well beyond the margin of error and about the only good thing the Biden camp can profess is that the election is not happening right now.
