‘Wright’ man
To the editor: Voters of Empire Village and Township have the opportunity to elect a qualified and committed community candidate for Township Trustee, Chris Wright. He offers his background in economics, a desire to serve the public good and years of familiarity with local issues, as effective qualifications for the office of Township Trustee.

Out of commission
To the editor: Over the past two years, the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners has made some baffling decisions. They paid a consultant to survey employees they don’t even manage — like deputies, clerk assistants and extension workers — who are under the control of other officials or unions.

Support for Bahle
To the editor: I support Lois Bahle for District 3 Commissioner. Bahle advocates for affordable housing and childcare — huge challenges facing our county.

Support for Campbell
To the editor: I’m supporting Alan Campbell for County Commissioner in District 5, covering Leland and Centerville Township. As a longtime journalist, government watchdog, and small business owner, Alan knows the importance of keeping local government in check.

Correction:
A story that appeared in the Sept. 12 issue of the Enterprise needs correcting. The “cultural campus” mentioned is an informal term used by neighboring organizations.

‘Trail to Nowhere’
To the editor: If the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail is extended to County Road 651 as planned, it will truly be a trail to nowhere. The already overcrowded Good Harbor Beach has inadequate parking.

A vote for Kama
To the editor: Kama Ross is our current Centerville representative on the county board and we need her to continue her work. She is honest, committed, involved and invested in our County.

‘Accountable’
To the editor: Will Bunek will bring accountability to our local government. As a former business person, he understands finance.

Support for Conley
To the editor: Leelanau Township expects its leaders to focus on the economic and social good of our families, farmers and businesses. We expect them to listen carefully, conduct business in an open and constructive manner, and tell us the complete truth.

Support Ross
To the editor: I met Kama Ross almost 10 years ago. Over the last decade, I’ve spent time with her as a friend (she’s there for you), forester, volunteer, public servant, and advocate for peaceful, thoughtful democratic engagement.
