Elected officials in Leelanau County are concerned that officials in neighboring Grand Traverse County may not be taking Leelanau’s interests into account in a new “east-west corridor transportation study.” Leelanau County Road Commission Chairman Bob Joyce said Tuesday he planned to get in touch with his counterparts in Grand Traverse County to discuss how and whether Leelanau County should play a role in a new study focusing on improving vehicular traffic flow around Traverse City. *** Lake Leelanau St. Mary Catholic School students and others who marched in an anti-abortion parade in Washington, D.C. last month won’t get a Certificate of Recognition from the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners after all.
