Ready or not, here they come
Ready or not, the holidays are hurtling towards us. The Northport Tree is being decorated and readied for the season. Northport resident Scott Cain, owner of Cain Design and Construction, was up in the bucket truck himself this past week, hanging lights and giant ornaments. Thanksgiving is just two weeks from today. Northport School is holding its annual Community Thanksgiving Lunch on Friday, November 22, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the school. An amended resolution to establish a special assessment community sewer at Sunset Shores was tabled Monday night at Leland Township’s regular monthly meeting. Not everyone in Leelanau County was complaining about the huge piles of snow facing them Tuesday morning. Liz Fay’s two preschool children seemed to think the snow this week was a lot nicer than the snow that hit Leelanau County last Thursday. It was fluffier. “Playing in the snowbanks was a lot easier this week,” said Fay, a full-time wife and mother and a part-time registered nurse at Munson Medical Center. *** Usually Leelanau County is considered one geographical unit. On Monday and Tuesday, though, there were two Leelanau County’s — the parts receiving up to three feet of snow and the parts that didn’t.
