Leelanau Twp. OKs communications tower agreement with county
Leelanau Township unanimously approved an updated intergovernmental agreement for construction of the Leelanau Township communication tower project at its regular meeting on Oct. 8. The agreement is contingent upon approval by the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners, which also reviewed the document and gave approval of the changes at its regular session last week Tuesday. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM

Board OKs partial road abandonment
The Leelanau County Road Commission partially abandoned Whittaker Road in Bingham Township, meaning they will no longer pay to maintain it and it will become privately owned. Township resident Renn Cheadle requested they abandon the road at the edge of his property, where the road terminates, at the road commission meeting Tuesday. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM

EMS/fire, general fund millages on ballot in Leelanau Twp.
Leelanau Township residents will head to the polls next month to vote on two millages pertaining to the fire/emergency medical services (EMS) fund, as well as the general fund. The renewal of extra voted millage for Leelanau Township’s fire/EMS fund will be renewed at 3.10 mills ($3.10 per $1,000 of taxable value) to be levied for a period of four years, 2024 through 2027 inclusive, for the purpose of equipping, operating and maintaining fire protection and emergency medical services including life support services. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM
