Light pollution?
To the editor: The Democrats on the BOC are prepping county taxpayers for another expensive and intrusive government crusade. This time they are defining a new enemy...

Grant dollars
To the editor: Contrary to rumors and candidate misrepresentations, the construction and administration of a solar project at the County Government Center would be paid for entirely through grant dollars. If the State awards Leelanau County a grant, the solar array could produce self-generated clean energy within a year and immediately bring cost savings of over $35,000 annually.

Support Brookfield
To the editor: Lisa proves her worthiness as our Leland Township Clerk day after day. Her “open door” policy and eagerness to talk to residents about their concerns is refreshing.

Clean energy
To the editor: I wanted to thank the Leelanau County Energy Futures Task Force for working to bring clean energy to Leelanau County. I recently read a research paper prepared by Columbia University titled “Rebutting 33 False Claims about Solar, Wind and Electric Vehicles” that I found so helpful in understanding some of the misinformation presented on these topics.

With thanks
To the editor: I want to sincerely thank Al Campbell for his dedication to running Kids Fishing Day. With the support of the Parks Commission, MDNR, the Grand Traverse Band, and many volunteers, Al has helped countless kids catch their first fish.

Support for extension
To the editor: I live in Cleveland Township, I walk the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail often and I give money to TART Trails. I firmly support the Section 9 extension - and completion - of the trail.

Apply for grant
To the editor: I am a former Suttons Bay school bus driver. School bus runs are long and of course frequent.

Support for Bahle
To the editor: I’m urging my neighbors to re-elect Lois Bahle as our District 3 county commissioner. Lois will never attempt to overturn the will of the people by zeroing-out funding for voterapproved initiatives.

Out of commission
To the editor: Over the past two years, the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners has made some baffling decisions. They paid a consultant to survey employees they don’t even manage — like deputies, clerk assistants and extension workers — who are under the control of other officials or unions.

Support for Bahle
To the editor: I support Lois Bahle for District 3 Commissioner. Bahle advocates for affordable housing and childcare — huge challenges facing our county.

Support for Campbell
To the editor: I’m supporting Alan Campbell for County Commissioner in District 5, covering Leland and Centerville Township. As a longtime journalist, government watchdog, and small business owner, Alan knows the importance of keeping local government in check.
