Washington’s words
To the editor: Not long after Washington was elected as our first president, the Hebrew Congregation in Newport, Rhode Island, sent him a letter of congratulations. In that letter, the congregation wrote of their hope that the new nation would tolerate religious minorities, like Jews.

‘Aggressive’ Conservancy
To the editor: As long time neighbors of the Leelanau Conservancy’s expanding Palmer Woods mountain bike recreation area, we have felt the impacts of increasing high-speed traffic through our rural neighborhood. Dysfunctional group
To the editor: I read with GREAT interest the headline article “Board OK’s employee survey” in the November 16 edition of the Leelanau Enterprise. I have been a resident of Suttons Bay for over ten years and am concerned at the number of examples where conduct among the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners has demonstrated acrimony and or contempt.
