Rental issue resolved?
To the editor: As we approach winter in Cherry Home Shores, we reflect on how peaceful the summers have become after the board took action to shut down predatory vacation rentals. We achieved an uneasy peace against commercial interests.

Wait a while
To the editor: An adage goes, “there is nothing so powerful as an idea whose time has come.” Well, the idea of full green energy has not yet come and won’t for quite a while. But hey, I’m all for it and when you can offer me an affordable non-Chinese-made sedan with a small and SAFE 10-year battery which will go 600 miles at 75 mph and recharges in 30 minutes for $20 I’ll buy one.

Job market strong
To the editor: Here is some vital information for everyone’s consideration as our Presidential Election approaches. The jobs report from Friday 12/8 indicates that 199,000 jobs were created in November; Unemployment fell to 3.7% and wages were up 0.4%.

Bill precedent-setting
To the editor: In the Nov. 23rd edition of the Enterprise, we were able to see two contrasting examples of how citizens have the opportunity to impact our community.

Board dysfunction
To the editor: I am appalled to read about a costly FOIA request from Commissioner Lautner to obtain information that Commissioner Ross refuses to share. First of all, why does an elected county commissioner even need to request a FOIA to obtain official information required to perform her oversight duties? The real issue is dysfunction on the board of commissioners.

Thank you
To the editor: The 2023 Lights, Bites, and Books Gala at the Suttons Bay Bingham District Library is now in the history books. Many thanks to the attendees and donors of items for the silent auction and all the volunteers who worked many hours to make this event happen.

Disruptive consequences
To the editor: I live on Wheeler Rd near the existing Palmer Woods staging area. For residents at the north end whose lives are now affected by the expansion, you should know that we’ve been suffering the disruptive consequences of having a national attraction installed in our front yard since its beginning.

Protect rural character
To the editor: The application for special use of the land owned by Amoritas Vineyards, to be leased by Under Canvas, a large out-of-state company, is concerning as its approval would set a precedent for future conversion of our agricultural lands. The proposal describes a 75 “room” glamping resort, with additional future needs for housing about 90 employees, which I note are not even detailed in the proposal.

Grateful for Conservancy
To the editor: I have been closely following the township meetings and the neighbor’s comments about Palmer Woods Forest Reserve’s new off-road parking area. I am a resident on Wheeler Road where I own three parcels of land.

Biker adrenaline
To the editor: Is the Palmer Woods Expansion Area an appropriate property tor mountain biking? The conservancy rigorously defends mountain biking, but many, local residents disagree. The Cleveland Township Board ignores their concerns regarding a planned .

Corporate greed
To the editor: Americans want financial security for themselves and their loved ones. But the pandemic exposed weaknesses in our supply chains, driving up prices that remain high, pinching our family budgets.

Washington’s words
To the editor: Not long after Washington was elected as our first president, the Hebrew Congregation in Newport, Rhode Island, sent him a letter of congratulations. In that letter, the congregation wrote of their hope that the new nation would tolerate religious minorities, like Jews.
