To the editor: One man: down with Democracy and the Constitution; Fake News; Witch Hunt; Removal of rights for many. None of these issues were in the forefront until Donald Trump unleashed his vitriol. 01/24/2024 04:23 PM
Roll back 2017 tax cuts
Roll back 2017 tax cuts
To the editor: I am no expert on tax policy, but I can read. Massive, permanent tax cuts in the last 25 years have caused a dramatic increase in the national debt by reducing the amount of money the government collects to conduct its business. 01/17/2024 04:38 PM
Lived experiences matter
Lived experiences matter
To the editor: Recent letters to the editor offered “evidence” to convince us that the Biden economy is strong. Now if only the American people could be convinced! What really matters is our lived experience. 01/17/2024 04:38 PM
We should be proud
We should be proud
To the editor: I was on a work call recently where regional child wellness agencies described services provided families and parents who face challenging behaviors with and/or who have questions about their young child’s development. All agree that the earlier a child’s developmental delays are identified, the more effective the interventions can be and the greater likelihood of having a healthy child, ready to handle kindergarten, and other emotional and social issues. 01/17/2024 04:38 PM

To the editor: I want to give a huge shout out and thank you to Kama Ross for all her hard work on our Board of Commissioners. She works tireless hours day and night serving the residents of Centerville and Leland Townships. 01/17/2024 04:38 PM
Where are the unions?
Where are the unions?
To the editor: The federal government is importing scab labor to suppress wages of working Americans. It is obvious big corporations and the wealthy don’t want to pay a living wage. 01/17/2024 04:38 PM
Parenting Communities valuable
Parenting Communities valuable
To the editor: I would like to express my extreme appreciation and gratitude for Parenting Communities of Leelanau County. I started using their program five years ago when my son was an infant. 01/17/2024 04:38 PM
Dunes should be left alone
Dunes should be left alone
To the editor: I must add my voice to the commotion recently regarding the addition of 4 more miles to the existing 22-mile Heritage Trail that extends from Empire to Good Harbor Bay at Bohemian Rd. To add additional four miles (predicted to cost a minimum of $10 million) at a cost exceeding that of the existing 22 miles is, first of all, a lot of money. 01/17/2024 04:38 PM

Lead, follow or get out of the way
To the editor: CONGRATULATIONS - The County Board of Commissioners for commissioning a desperately needed Organizational Culture Survey. GOOD WORK - The Enterprise for great reporting of the results of the culture survey, which was conducted and the results presented professionally. 01/17/2024 04:38 PM
Facts don’t add up
Facts don’t add up
To the editor: The letters written to the editor in the Jan. 11 edition show a reliance on biased media for information regarding January 6. 01/17/2024 04:38 PM
‘Guardrails’ not to be trusted
‘Guardrails’ not to be trusted
To the editor: In his 12/28/23 letter to the editor, David Edelstein utilizes his observation that “guardrails” have been applied to free speech as justification for limits that should also be applied to our right to bear arms. I appreciate his comparison, which undermines his point. 01/10/2024 03:45 PM
