Personal finance class OK’d
In an effort to comply with state requirements for graduation, the Glen Lake Board of Education approved a proposal to offer a personal finance pilot class at the secondary level. According to board references, pupils entering grade 8 in 2023, will be required to complete a 1/2 credit court in personal finance that aligns with subject area content expectations developed by the Department of Education and approved by the state board under section 1278b. 05/08/2024 04:54 PM

New Community Vision (NCV) is moving forward with its efforts this summer to acquire the former Timber Shores property, determined to reach its $3.6 million mid-summer goal from private donors. J is for the Juxtaposition student art exhibition on display next week
Artwork produced by Northport Public School students will be on display for the public to view at the Northport Art Association (NAA) building on Thursday, May 16. The open house art exhibition titled “J is for Juxtaposition” features over 200 unique pieces from Northport students in grades K-12, and includes a mix of art through various mediums, such as paintings, pottery, and sculptures. 05/08/2024 04:54 PM

Peninsula Housing, a nonprofi t housing land trust, is looking to bring affordable housing to several locations in central Leelanau County.
