Rev. Mr. John Albert Moeggenberg, 91, of Shepherd/Midland/Traverse City/ Cedar/Lakeland, passed from death to new life on June 6, 2024. He lived such a full, charismatic, accomplished life – simple words cannot contain nor fully encompass. While he will be missed, his legacy of helping to build the Kingdom of God remains.

HONOR – Doris Mae Plowman, 88, of Honor, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 2, 2024, at The Villa at Traverse Point with her family at her side. Doris was born on May 19, 1936, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Joseph and Catherine (McDermott) Mackzum and spent her youth developing a love of life, family and horses.

Celebration of Life— Rosemarie (Kolarik) Anderson age 90, passed away December 13, 2023 at her home in Kentucky with her son Lud, and daughter Lori-Ann in attendance. Rosemarie was born June 4,1933 at the Kolarik family farm in Gills Pier, MI.

Sandra Jean Steimel (Richter), affectionately known as Sandy, San, and Stymie, 72, of Traverse City died May 31, 2024, in her home with her family by her side. A memorial service will be held on June 29, 2024, at 11 a.m.

In loving memory of Steven Nelson Purvis, 75, of Traverse City, who peacefully passed away on May 2, 2024, surrounded by his family. Steven was born on April 27, 1949, to Richard and Clara Purvis, and spent his entire life in Traverse City, witnessing and embracing the changes it underwent.

On June 9, 2024, Marga Toepfer Galla’s journey on this earth came to an end. Born on May 8, 1939, in Fuerth Germany, her early years were spent surviving WWII, starvation, and rheumatic fever.

Cedar – David Keith Parker, 68, of Cedar passed away peacefully at his home on June 3, 2024. Dave was born on February 23, 1956 in Traverse City to the late Keith Edward and Margaret Ellen (Bernhardt) Parker.

William Julias (Bill) Morse, a longtime resident of Lake Ann, and current resident of Traverse City passed away on March 28, 2024 at the Pavilions in Traverse City at the age of 101. A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 15th, 2024 at 11 AM at Greenbriar Cemetery in Lake Ann. A celebratory luncheon will follow at the Lake Ann United Methodist Community Center at 19900 First Street in Lake Ann. All friends and family of Bill are cordially invited to attend. Please come to the luncheon even if you are not able to attend the cemetery services. Robert (Bob) John Purvis, of Suttons Bay, Michigan, died January 2, 2024, at the Highlands of Northport. Bob evaporated from the Earth, leaving a colorful collection of relatives, friends, neighbors and admirers, the widow Rogers, and the memory of “Kitty” his long-haired white cat.

Leonard G. Kropp, 100, of Gills Pier, passed away on May 1, 2024. Graveside service with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 at the Leelanau Township Cemetery in Northport. Arrangements are with the Martinson Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Leelanau.
