Auction grosses more than $100,000
Over 200 guests packed the gymnasium for the 42nd Annual St. Mary School Auction Nov. 9. The gym was transformed to reflect the theme Casino Night and guest were encouraged to dress accordingly. The doors opened at 6 p.m. with appetizers, dinner, cash bar, and live music provided by Joe Houdek, a St. Mary alumnus and current director of music ministries at Holy Spirit Parish in Grand Rapids. 11/20/2024 04:34 PM

Longtime Leelanau Township treasurer Denise Dunn attended her last regular township meeting on Nov.12, wrapping up her 28 year-long tenure in the position to retire. Renovations to SB-Bingham firehall begin Dec. 6
The Suttons Bay-Bingham Fire Department is getting half a million dollars of remodeling and renovations starting Dec. 6. Every holiday season for the last 20 years, Northport Public School Art Teacher Jen Evans has been organizing a hand turkey competition for students to display their artistic talents. Former Leland student makes off-Broadway debut
A former Leland Public School student and Interlochen Arts Academy graduate, Lukey Klein, made their off-Broadway debut last month with a couple of special guests from home in the audience. Jeremy Evans, Glen Lake Community School elementary performing arts teacher, and Kathy Lau, a theater costume designer who also worked with Evans for at least 20 years at Leland school, made the trip from Leelanau County on Oct. 11/20/2024 04:34 PM
