Documentary on homelessness at the Bay
The Bay Community Theatre will host the world theatrical premiere of “The Razor’s Edge” – a new documentary providing a firsthand look at the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness and their struggles to survive on the streets – on Sunday, November 3 at 4 p.m. Doors for the event open at 3:30 p.m. Emmy-winning producer/ director Keith Famie and local representatives from three area nonprofits – Feed the Children, Leelanau Christian Neighbors, and 5Loaves2Fish Northern Michigan – will be in attendance for a panel discussion on this timely issue impacting communities across northern Michigan. 10/30/2024 05:31 PM

LLLA reports successful field season

Community comes together for Leland holiday lights
Thanks to community members that rallied in support of a small town’s most magical time of year, Leland’s holiday lights will be up sparkling and shining bright once again in November. Much like a Christmas miracle, members of the community, whether they were Leelanau County residents or belonged to the Leland Chamber of Commerce, donated enough funds last week and over the weekend to meet the Monday deadline for securing a holiday lights display this season. 10/23/2024 06:26 PM
