Lakers to defend regional title
Glen Lake basketball is ready to make another championship run as players lace up their shoes for the 2024-25 season. The Lakers are coming off an impressive year, having defeated Bellaire 65-49 in the regional final behind Jacob Plamondon’s 23-point performance, before falling to Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart 63-51 in the quarterfi nal.

Football Dream Team
Another fall football season passes for Glen Lake and Suttons Bay. With stadiums packed and students showing school pride, parents watching their boys on Friday night is a feeling like no other. Both the Lakers and the Norsemen left it all under the Friday night lights. The Dream Team is voted on by Glen Lake coach Jesse Smith, Suttons Bay coach Garrick Opie, and Enterprise sports editor Brian Freiberger.

Leland falls in regional final
In a heartbreaking loss, Leland boys soccer (18-3-1) fell in the regional final 2-0 against Western Michigan Christian at Cadillac High School Thursday. Any player would admit that Leland’s goal was to win a state championship, and anything less than that would have been a disappointment.

GL football is moving on to playoffs
Glen Lake football will host a playoff game for the first time since 2019 with a 35-0 win over Mancelona on Friday. The Lakers will host Mancelona again in the first round of the Div. 8 football state playoffs.
