To the editor: The article on the resignation of commissioner Jamie Kramer cites reasons for the resignation were time constraints, dissatisfaction with the chairman, the culture survey, and concerns about unequal treatment of women. As a long-time advocate for equality, I am compelled to address the statement about “sexual discrimination” as implied toward chairman, Ty Wessell Respectfully, my experience is contrary to what was implied in the article. 07/17/2024 05:06 PM

Fair elections

To the editor: Why are Democrats against a Republican-sponsored bill requiring voter ID to vote in federal elections? Is it because they’re planning to commit massive voter fraud? It’s required to show an ID to board a plane, receive welfare benefits, visit health-care facilities, etc. Every legitimate vote should be protected to insure fair elections, and no one should vote for any politician who opposes this SAVE Act. 07/17/2024 05:06 PM

To the editor: On the August primary ballot, voters will have the opportunity to renew the millage that supports Early Childhood services provided free of charge to all young families in Leelanau County.
