Republicans responsible
Republicans responsible
To the editor: It was the Republicans who instigated the County Reorganization that has cost us $800,000+. Led by Chairman Bunek, without notice or discussion, the County Commission in 2021 stripped duties performed successfully for 20 years by our County Clerk. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM

Choose wisely
Choose wisely
To the editor: When I look at candidates for local office, I look at two criteria that are more important to me than whether they are a Democrat or a Republican: Do they have a history of local involvement as a volunteer trying to help the community? Do they have a work history or educational background that prepares them for community service? Look at the resumes of the candidates — have they done meaningful work to help the community already? Do they have a work history that shows their commitment to public welfare? Choose wisely. Rick Gans Northport. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM

Ross committed
Ross committed
To the editor: As a former County Commissioner, there was no question in my mind that Kama Ross would make an exceptional County Commissioner when I encouraged her to run for District 5—and she has exceeded my expectations. What I didn’t know was how incredibly responsive she would be helping so many individuals find solutions to their problems. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM

Vote for Bahle
Vote for Bahle
To the editor: I was there in 2021 when the Board voted along party lines, without a plan or cost consideration, to reorganize Finance/ HR, and to begin meetings with Christianprayer. And,when the Chair proposed a Right to Life Resolution. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM
Faith and confidence
Faith and confidence
To the editor: A call was given to Leelanau’s BOC at Tuesday’s meeting to reassure a resident that they firmly believed in the election system and process the Clerk has chosen to use locally is trustworthy. Concerns were shared with the BOC over the past year by numerous local individuals. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM
