Fortunate to have Wessell
Fortunate to have Wessell
To the editor: We are fortunate to live in beautiful Leelanau County and we are fortunate to have Ty Wessell as our District 4 County Commissioner. Ty has shown himself to be a thoughtful and dedicated leader. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM
Ross active/dedicated
Ross active/dedicated
To the editor: ACTIONS speak louder than words! Kama Ross has been a very active and dedicated County Commissioner. Personally, I appreciate her leadership and involvement working to resolve the safety issue of M22 between M204 and Leland. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM
Decisive leader needed
Decisive leader needed
To the editor: The present County Board has failed to hire a permanent county administrator. Commissioner Kama Ross, representing Leland and Centerville Townships, cast the only no vote against continuing the process in a speedy fashion. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM

To the editor: Ty Wessell says he’s reduced taxes and improved teamwork on the County Board, but the numbers tell a different story. Spending is up, and taxes have followed. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM
Time for change
Time for change
To the editor: Recently, Supervisor Och accused the Leland Township Board of balancing budgets by “ignoring” parks and infrastructure. True, we developed an efficient, sustainable budget. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM

Climate change
To the editor: Whether you call it climate change or global warming it impacts us all and it is negatively affecting our planet and our future. Have you noticed how most of our weather events are so extreme. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM

To the editor: As evidence of climate-related change continues to mount — in the form of increasing floods, dropping water tables, relentless fires and even immigration — it is disturbing that the very concept of a changing climate, along with possible ways to address it, are partisan and divisive issues. We all need to be working together to create solutions that prevent or mitigate these disasters, including making informed choices in November’s elections. 10/09/2024 05:51 PM

To the editor: Please vote for Al Campbell as your next county commissioner for Leelanau County. He has been a tireless volunteer for many causes including providing scholarships for both our young and adult residents, and helping handicapped people get outdoors and enjoy life. 10/09/2024 05:51 PM
Spending increases
Spending increases
To the editor: The Leelanau County Board of Commissioners has lost the respect it once had. To restore accountability, I urge you to vote for Al Campbell this November. 10/09/2024 05:51 PM

Newcomers in Empire
To the editor: There are three newcomers to the Village of Empire political scene. Andrew Clements (55), a young family man and business man. 10/09/2024 05:51 PM
Vote for Wessell
Vote for Wessell
To the editor: Ty Wessell is the perfect ingredient for a Leelanau County Commissioner recipe. He is the leavening agent which enables bi-partisanship. 10/09/2024 05:51 PM
History repeating itself
History repeating itself
To the editor: I recently read articles on the National Park Service and the dock disputes on N. Manitou Island. 10/09/2024 05:51 PM
