Going green?
Going green?
To the editor: Great coverage of the Leelanau Energy Members Picnic and gathering “to celebrate successes and plan for the year ahead.” Some recall the December 2022 failure of a Leelanau Community Energy group’s past project when Northport’s wind turbine fell down. There was great hoopla about this Big Green Machine’s installation, like a Christmas tree, bedecked only with tax credits for investors who touted sustainable, renewable, free winddriven energy. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM

To the editor: Voters of County Commissioner District 4Leelanau Township and adjacent areas, on November 5, RE-ELECT Ty Wessell to represent you. Since 2014, Ty has served our area with integrity, leadership, and insight. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM
‘Timeless’
‘Timeless’
To the editor: Calvin Coolidge was not the most popular President and he refused a second term. He was well educated and really respected. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM
Obligated to vote
Obligated to vote
To the editor: OK, What Now? The RNC and DNC conventions are now over ! Perhaps there are a few who do not like either Presidential candidate. Your possible response may be: “ Why bother to vote ?” Well as a “legal, “ U.S. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM
Reelect Ross
Reelect Ross
To the editor: At the last two monthly meetings of Centerville Township’s board, trustees from both parties praised Kama Ross as county commissioner for District 5. In these spontaneous remarks, trustees cited their appreciation for Ross attending monthly meetings and engaging with township officials and residents. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM
Censorship
Censorship
To the editor: Kevin Spivak’s recent Real Clear Politics commentary underlines a critical difference between Republican and Democrat leadership. Republicans stand for free speech, and Democrats, who used to, support suppression of what they define as misinformation. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM
Immigrants not the enemy
Immigrants not the enemy
To the editor: Ads promote “be afraid” of immigrants in a nation of immigrants*. The April ’24 Bridge Magazine cited: “About 10.5 million people live in the US without legal status; about the same as in 2017. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM

Accountability Fantasy
To the editor: What would it be like if legislators who voted against national relief and infrastructure bills received zero money? I am looking at you Jack Bergman. What if there was no relief for those who live in district #1 because of your no votes? Businesses and families would have gotten no relief. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM
Board flip-flop
Board flip-flop
To the editor: How interesting to read in the Enterprise ( Cleveland Addresses Segment 9) that Jan Nowak, along with Tim Stein and Angie Diotte, have flip flopped on their support of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail route extension. It was, after all, Jan’s motion to support a resolution at the September 10, 2019 Cleveland Township Board meeting in favor of the proposed route. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
Leash your dog!
Leash your dog!
To the editor: I love dogs, but I am terrified of off leash dogs. I have an older “rescue” dog that is highly reactive to other dogs, and we love going on hikes on public trails. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
Coverage appreciated
Coverage appreciated
To the editor: I was happy to see the featured coverage of the TART trail extension through Cleveland Township. I am hopeful that continued thought is put into redirecting the project in order to protect the natural landscape for residents and visitors. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
Passing notes
Passing notes
To the editor: Passing notes about the date of a follow up interview and when an ongoing presentation started? Congratulations Enterprise on your big scoop right before the election. After all, It would be dangerous to reelect a commissioner so misguided as to ask the clerk for the date of a future meeting. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
