A relatively small number of people took advantage of early in-person voting for the primaries in Leelanau County, but it’s proven to be a hugely popular way to vote in the general election. To the editor: Board Chair Ty Wessell, bypassed all three female Democrat commissioners and overlooked the most experienced commission, Melinda Lautner, a woman, in order to nominate the least experienced commissioner, Doug Rexroat, to be Vice Chair, a man who didn’t event vote for himself.
