The Village of Omena is bedecked for the holidays! About two dozen hardy people turned out to decorate the Post Office, Omena Historical Museum and the Fire Hall Saturday. Native American Heritage month celebrated at S-B
Suttons Bay Public School celebrated Native American Heritage Month with a special spirit week held from Nov. 18 to Nov. 22. Throughout the week, school staff and students participated in themed dress-up days and activities aimed at fostering pride, awareness, and unity. Students embraced their creativity and cultural appreciation by participating in themed days such as “Rock Your Mocs or Crocs” and “Rock Your Ribbon Skirt or Shirt.” The week also provided an opportunity to spotlight and honor the diverse Native American traditions represented within the district’s student body. 11/27/2024 08:54 AM

Jingle dancers demonstrate culture
Earlier this month St. Mary K-12 students had the unique opportunity to attend a Native American Heritage presentation, featuring eighth grader Alexa Diaz, a talented jingledress dancer.
