Comets return with new coach
Heading into the 2024-25 school year, new Leland varsity volleyball Coach Travis Baker said he and the team are ready to give it their best embarking on another busy season. While Baker is taking on the head coach position for the first time, he’s been assisting with coaching volleyball at Leland for about 14 years now.

The Glen Lake boys soccer team opened up the season at an invitational in down in Hart over the weekend. In the first game, GL beat eventual tournament champions Brooklyn Columbia Central 3-2.

Lakers eye state championship in 2024
Glen Lake tennis will be embarking on a new season with a veteran team and a new coach. As of this printing, Glen Lake coach Johnny Voss is a first year head coach, and an undefeated one, as the Lakers won 5-3 in a match against Haslett over the weekend.

Suttons Bay soccer is hitting the pitch with plenty of new and old faces wanting to make noise in the Northwest Conference this season The Norsemen will be replacing several seniors producers with new faces, even freshman, expecting to compete for starting positions on the pitch.

Comets start season with big wins
The 2024 soccer season kicked off in a big way for Leland boys soccer (2-0) after a convincing 5-0 win over perennial state powerhouse Grandville Calvin on Friday. Leland junior Brian Mosqueda led with two goals, followed by sophomore Adrian Spencer (goal), Landon Allen (goal, assist), Max Waldrup (goal, 2 assists), Jose Roman (assist), and junior Dominic Ravello had eight saves.
