To the editor: Should attending meetings be a criteria for qualifying candidates, I’ve attended (BOC) and Committee meetings for 13 years, Bingham Township Planning meetings for 12 years and for the last 5 years Northwest Regional Airport Authority (NRAA) and Cherry Capital Airport committee meetings representing Leelanau County. To the editor: I oppose SBDNL/TART’s plan to destroy the existing environment (cut 7,000+ trees; build boardwalks through wetlands; and cut into protected sand dunes then build 25’ +/- high retaining walls to hold back the dunes) at the outrageous price tag of $4 million per mile.
