Great turnout for Genuine Leelanau
To the editor: Genuine Leelanau is a small non-profit organization started in 1983. We work to improve the well being of Leelanau County’s children, individuals and families.

Thank you
To the editor: In this day and age, it is all too infrequent that a company providing a service will exceed their customer’s expectations. The steering cable on my 46-year-old Boston Whaler broke on the Tuesday before July 4th.

Gala kudos
To the editor: On behalf of the board of directors for the Leelanau County Cancer Foundation, I would like to thank everyone who made our Gala of Grace fundraiser successful. To French Valley Vineyards for providing the venue, North Coast Trio and Sara Hartley for providing entertainment, to all those who donated auction items or food for our buffet, and to all those who attended and so generously bid on items, too numerous to name, we sincerely appreciate you.

Leland Twp. issues
To the editor: I’m often asked what I see as the top issues facing Leland Township over the next four years. While there are many — park improvements (including the DNR launch), rebuilding the library seawall, prioritizing road repairs — the list starts with mending the divisions that have widened the last several years, and earning back the community’s confidence in our local government.

Unsound
To the editor: Our country’s well-being be damned, Democrats and a complicit mainstream media were completely comfortable reelecting a cognitively impaired President Biden when they thought he could win. Their claims that his sad debate performance was “a breakthrough moment” in their understanding of his condition, which “aides have shielded,” or that “preparation overload” or “a cold” were to blame, are selfevident nonsense.

Disappointing
To the editor: What I witnessed at the Senior Expo was disappointing. Last week, our Seniors gathered at Suttons Bay High School, to get help with just about any issue that accompanies aging.

Thank you
To the editor: Thanks to family, friends, and community members for the celebration of my book, “Faith, Family & Music,” at the book signing event that took place on May 26, at the Solon Township Hall. What a party it was! Music was provided by band members of Larry & His Larks, Ray Watkoski, and Bobby Atkinson.

More on Section 9
To the editor: Scott Tucker, Superintendent of the National Lakeshore, stated 5/7/24, “We have put design requirements forth for our design team to meander through that corridor. So that’s the design that I’m expecting to see this summer,” said Supt.

Visual pollution
To the editor: Please. Could we refrain from putting up political signs until just a few weeks before any election? Otherwise, we have months of visual pollution.

Grateful for support
To the editor: On behalf of the Leland Chamber of Commerce I’d like to express our gratitude for the unwavering support and generosity from our community. When we shared the cancellation of our beloved Leland Wine Festival this year, our main fundraiser, the response was heartwarming.

‘Defund’ higher education
To the editor: It was reported last week that North Korean defector— Yeonmi Park—is astonished at the anti-Western forced thinking, trigger warnings, safe spaces, preferred pronouns, and political correctness she encountered as a student at Columbia University, saying “even North Korea isn’t this nuts.” Park cannot believe she was asked to do “this much censoring of myself” at a U.S. university and observes that Americans seem willing to give their rights away, not realizing they may never come back.

No lethal force
To the editor: A letter in the June 19 Enterprise erroneously claims that the DOJ authorized the use of lethal force against Trump. Here’s what actually happened: the search warrant for Mar-a-Lago contained boilerplate language that’s put in every warrant to remind agents of the FBI’s policy regarding limitations on the use of lethal force.
