Accountability Fantasy
Accountability Fantasy
To the editor: What would it be like if legislators who voted against national relief and infrastructure bills received zero money? I am looking at you Jack Bergman. What if there was no relief for those who live in district #1 because of your no votes? Businesses and families would have gotten no relief. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM
Board flip-flop
Board flip-flop
To the editor: How interesting to read in the Enterprise ( Cleveland Addresses Segment 9) that Jan Nowak, along with Tim Stein and Angie Diotte, have flip flopped on their support of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail route extension. It was, after all, Jan’s motion to support a resolution at the September 10, 2019 Cleveland Township Board meeting in favor of the proposed route. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
Leash your dog!
Leash your dog!
To the editor: I love dogs, but I am terrified of off leash dogs. I have an older “rescue” dog that is highly reactive to other dogs, and we love going on hikes on public trails. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
Coverage appreciated
Coverage appreciated
To the editor: I was happy to see the featured coverage of the TART trail extension through Cleveland Township. I am hopeful that continued thought is put into redirecting the project in order to protect the natural landscape for residents and visitors. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
Passing notes
Passing notes
To the editor: Passing notes about the date of a follow up interview and when an ongoing presentation started? Congratulations Enterprise on your big scoop right before the election. After all, It would be dangerous to reelect a commissioner so misguided as to ask the clerk for the date of a future meeting. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
NPS doesn’t care
NPS doesn’t care
To the editor: It seems near that most of the residents of Leelanau County opposed the extension of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The 4.2-mil extension will costs $15.5 million — that is $700 per foot! Remember the 1970s? The NPS has a history of pressing on with initiatives regardless of what people thing, Chuck Bond Maple City. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
Thank you
Thank you
To the editor: Thank you, voters, for renewing the Suttons Bay Bingham District Library’s operating millage! The library millage passed with 74% approval from the library’s service areas of Suttons Bay Village and Township and Bingham Township. We’ve received your support; now we’d like your opinion. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM

Support for Ross
To the editor: Kama Ross is the very best of the best among those running for office in Leelanau County. Her honesty and integrity are just two of her amazing qualities. 08/14/2024 04:33 PM

Bringing America together
To the editor: I’m grateful to Joe Biden and believe history will judge him as an exceptional president. But I’m glad he stepped aside. 08/14/2024 04:33 PM

To the editor: For many years those who boat down the Leland river ave noticed that some areas need to be dredged. Thanks to the generous donations of the Thomas Reahard Family and Easling Construction a study is underway to help develop a comprehensive program and budget to accomplish this goal. 08/14/2024 04:33 PM

Support for trail extension
To the editor: We are big fans of TART since living near the Leelanau Trail and watching it transform the community around it in a positive way! We now live in Cleveland Township and when using the Heritage Trail, it’s wonderful to see people experiencing the beauty and ecodiversity of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore in such a unique and healthy way! As advocates for people with disabilities, we also love that the SBHT trail provides an accessible and truly immersive way to experience the National Lakeshore for people with mobility challenges. The process of creating this next section has been nothing but respectful of the community- using input from a series of public Cleveland Township meetings held in 2018 to inform the route. 08/14/2024 04:33 PM
