Youth fishing derby this Saturday
Families can expect plenty of fish and even bigger smiles at the annual Scott Brow Fishing Derby held at the Northport Mill Pond on Third Street from dawn until 2 p.m. on Saturday. People often read about scams happening to others in the news, but most think it could never happen to themselves, let alone, anyone they know like a family member or friend. Traverse City resident, Donald Balcom, 89, admitted guilt in the 13th Circuit Court in Leelanau County Monday to a felony charge related to the repeated sinking of a barge in Lake Michigan.
