The Leelanau peninsula is known for its beauty, from the waters that surround it and the orchards that produce fruit, to the farms that grow vegetables and flowers that so many people enjoy. Harvest brings about a range of emotion for farmers including pride, gratification, contentment — and when prices for crops are low, anxiousness. To the editor: This newspaper paints a picture of our Leelanau County Board of Commissioners as an acrimonious and dysfunctional body, in part by devoting a great deal of attention to minor issues.
