The owners of what could arguably be the most lavish home in northern Michigan have had their property tax appeal turned down by the Leland Township Board of Review. The Leland Board of Review voted unanimously Tuesday to turn down a petition from Celebration Life Trust of its 2019 tax assessment. *** The Loon Ranger rides again! In fact, he’ll probably begin riding on a pontoon boat as soon as the ice thaws on Cedar Lake in Elmwood Township this spring. S-B Norsemen Robotics compete in first match in Lake City
This weekend, Suttons Bay Public Schools’ Norsemen Robotics, made up of students from Suttons Bay, Lake Leelanau St Mary, and Northport, competed at Lake City High School for the first district competition of the season. The competition consisted of 78 randomized qualification matches, during which each team played as an “alliance” with two others and against three opposing robots. These qualification matches then determined the team’s rank out of the 40 teams present. At the conclusion of the qualification matches, the team ranked 8th. 03/13/2024 11:46 PM

Edwin “Ed” Vincent Blasius
Edwin “Ed” Vincent Blasius, 75, of Springfield, set sail on his final journey on Friday, March 8th, 2024, from Springfield Memorial Hospital. Born in Saginaw, Michigan on March 15, 1948, Ed was a son of Clarence Vincent and Mary Ella Williams Blasius. Ed graduated from Caro High School, and later attended Oakland University where he earned a Bachelor of Science as well as meeting the love of his life. From Oakland, Ed went on to become a diehard Wolverine fan while earning a Master of Science from the University of Michigan. 03/13/2024 11:46 PM
